Our Practice:
This practice is dedicated to my family who has supported me through my dream of owning my own business. We at Lake Sarah Dental understand the importance of family time, so we offer early morning appointments. My family especially our oldest son has always been fascinated by trains. Because of this we decided to put one in our lobby. Even if you are curious to see the train, please feel free to come in and visit.

Sarah Magnuson, DDS
It is an honor to be able to practice family dentistry and have a career that I absolutely love. Volunteering is an extremely important part of my life and dentistry gives me plenty of opportunities.
Originally, I am from Fridley, Minnesota. My husband and I decided to move out to the western suburbs to be closer to his hometown of Medina. I am happy to provide care to a loving smaller community. Building relationships with my patients is very important to me and I hope you can feel at home at my office.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry in 2008, with an award in Implant Dentistry. I received my bachelor’s degree in biology and coaching minor from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2004. In 2016 the Minnesota Dental Association presented me with the New Dentist Leadership Award for my commitment to the field of dentistry including all my volunteer efforts.
Since completing dental school, I have both private practice and public health experience. I am comfortable treating patients of all ages! My path in general dentistry includes working for a children's clinic for 5 years, so I feel comfortable starting with your family right from the first tooth erupting! My advanced coursework includes courses in oral surgery (removal of teeth), aesthetic procedures (veneers), clear aligners (SureSmile), laser dentistry (Solea), root canals, and a mini-residency in pediatrics. Continuing my education has provided me the ability to provide the best care for my patients and I always look forward to keeping up to date on the latest concepts in dentistry.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentists. I participate annually in the Give Kids a Smile Event the first Friday in February where we provide care for those without insurance. I have served my dental community with varies positions including the Board of Visitors for the University of Minnesota Dental School, a delegate and executive council member for the Minneapolis District Dental Society, Mission of Mercy Supply lead, and a MDA affinity product committee member for the Minnesota Dental Association.
If you have not been to a dentist in a long time, no worries, the hardest part is taking the time to make the appointment. At our clinic we believe in providing a balanced approach to dentistry and we listen to our patients' concerns. We want you to have a comfortable and relaxing experience.
Aside from dentistry, I have lived in Independence, MN since 2009 with my husband Edwin (Ed), my three sons, Morse, Vernon, and Henry & my daughter Avery. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, knitting, cooking, water skiing, practicing my faith, coaching/managing my children's sports teams and volunteering with my children's schools. I look forward to meeting all of you!
